An exciting opportunity awaits! We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead the operation of Sociali Trattoria & Bar, Verde on Smythe Cafe, and In-room Dining at the newly opened Crowne Plaza Geelong.
Set within the much-anticipated Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre precinct, Crowne Plaza Geelong offers a truly elevated stay. With 200 guest rooms, Cafe, a la carte Italian restaurant with 100 seats, the spectacular Skyline Bar with sweeping Corio Bay views, plus a pool, gym, and cutting-edge conference facilities, the hotel is designed to impress both leisure and business travellers alike.
Joining Crowne Plaza Geelong presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new hotel launch, operate within state-of-the-art facilities, and help establish service excellence in a landmark Geelong destination.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different; you will play a key role in:
- Working closely with the Director of Food and Beverage to drive Sociali Trattoria & Bar as a standalone dining destination and create signature experiences that differentiate the venue from local competition.
- Develop wine and beverage programs that complement the food offering.
- Implement and enhance standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the food & beverage department, including service standards, food handling protocols, sanitation procedures, waste management and customer service guidelines.
- Lead a team of over 40 colleagues across a seven day operation from Breakfast, to Dinner and everything in between.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen, events, and front office department to ensure seamless operations, communicating F& B needs and requirements effectively.
- Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign tasks, establish performance and development goals for your team. Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual departmental budgets and financial plans.
- Ensuring full compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Minimum 5 years’ Restaurant Management experience, ideally overseeing multiple outlets within hotels, resorts, or high-volume premium or fine-dining environments.
- Desired however not required, previous event management experience within a corporate and special events environment.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, drive strong financial results, and consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated strategic mindset, with the ability to think creatively, explore new ways of working, and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the hotel.
- Sound knowledge of food and beverage operations, including cost control, compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on and operationally focused, with the physical capability to perform the role, including standing for extended periods and manual handling up to 23kg.
- Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, systems, and English language skills.
- Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), Approved Manager, and Food Handling Certificate (or ability to obtain).
- Full working rights in Australia with no restrictions.
What we need from you
