One of Melbourne’s most iconic CBD arcades is fast transforming into a landmark retail and holiday destination. The redevelopment of "Melbourne Walk" Arcade will soon see IHG’s first Australian dual-branded hotel project. Nestled in the heart of Melbourne's vibrant CBD, this project combines the boutique charm of Hotel Indigo with the modern comfort of Holiday Inn, offering a unique blend of hospitality experiences across 452 rooms.

Open the door into Hotel Indigo and guests can expect local character, modern design and warm, professional service with a vibrant and individual flavour, bringing the edgy laneway neighbourhood of Little Collins Street to life. Making the most of the retail haven, Holiday Inn will offer a modern, fresh and friendly stay for a wide variety of guests coming to enjoy the convenience and value they know and love from Holiday Inn, and all that Bourke Street Mall has to offer.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor who has a broad range of building maintenance skills. The ideal candidate will thrive in a busy hotel environment and enjoy working with a diverse team in a hotel service environment.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but as part of the pre-opening team, you will play a key role in ensuring these new hotels are ready to welcome their first guests, including:

  • Provide daily supervision of the team so that routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and repairs are executed in a timely manner with minimal impact on guests
  • Build collaborative partnerships with leaders so that all departments are kept informed on maintenance needs that might impact their areas
  • Create, implement and manage the departmental roster ensuring compliance to HIGA and other applicable awards
  • Allocate work requests, scheduled maintenance and repairs to the Maintenance Technicians via HubOS
  • Assist in the management of Fire Life Safety within the facility which includes coordinating evacuation training, first aid courses and extinguisher training
  • Disseminate safety information to colleagues relevant to the specific work hazards of the area
  • Play a key role in the management of compliance documentation by developing knowledge on both local building codes and brand standards

What we need from you

  • Full working rights within Australia with no restrictions
  • Solid experience in a maintenance role, preferably within the hospitality industry or building services is required
  • Previous new hotel opening experience is valued
  • A candidate with an electrical qualifications would be highly regarded.
  • An ability to lead and inspire colleagues from varied backgrounds, levels of skill and experience and an ability to communicate and collaborate with other functions
  • Previous experience working in guest areas and assisting guests with other requests as required.
