About the Role

Welcome to Rydges Ringwood, your gateway to Melbourne’s East, the Yarra Valley, and surrounds. Perfectly situated for both business and leisure, our hotel offers modern rooms and apartments with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. This role would be ideal for a GM who is looking to join a larger company and can drive new business and sales in the hotel. You’ll work closely with the Area GM and Owners on maximising the hotels revenue and occupancy.

This role is central to realising and sustaining EVT’s Hospitality commercial objectives and people-focused values. As the property’s chief host, brand ambassador, and experience creator, you’ll be present, visible, and engaged. You’ll drive performance, foster a high-energy culture, and lead with purpose, delivering exceptional service while growing revenue and maintaining operational excellence.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a senior role or GM position in hotels, working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Strong sales and operational background with a track record of achieving revenue growth and profitability.
• Deep understanding of operational frameworks, risk mitigation, and WH& S compliance.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to be present, visible, and approachable across all areas of the business.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams, drive engagement, and develop talent.
• Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and Profit & Loss reports with strategic insight.
• Strong sales and customer experience mindset, with the ability to act as brand ambassador and chief host.
• Ability to foster community relationships and maintain strong stakeholder networks.
• Comfortable driving innovation and continuous improvement across service and operations.
• Committed to upholding company values, ethical standards, and corporate social responsibility.
