About the Role

This role would be ideal for someone who is looking for their first General Manager position and looking to move up from senior hotel management role. The 103 key Rydges Ringwood is the gateway to Melbourne’s East, the Yarra Valley, and surrounds, perfectly situated for both business and leisure stays.


We are seeking a passionate and dynamic person to lead the hotel operation. This role is central to realising and sustaining EVT’s Hospitality commercial objectives and people-focused values. As the property’s chief host, brand ambassador, and experience creator, you’ll be present, visible, and engaged. You’ll drive performance, foster a high-energy culture, and lead with purpose, delivering exceptional service while growing revenue and maintaining operational excellence.


This is an amazing opportunity to move into a GM role and have the support of the State Manager to mentor, support and develop you.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior role, ideally with a strong Sales and Operational background in hotels.
  • Strong sales and operational background with a track record of achieving revenue growth and profitability.
  • Deep understanding of operational frameworks, risk mitigation, and WH& S compliance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to be present, visible, and approachable across all areas of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams, drive engagement, and develop talent.
  • Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and Profit & Loss reports with strategic insight.
  • Strong sales and customer experience mindset, with the ability to act as brand ambassador and chief host.
  • Ability to foster community relationships and maintain strong stakeholder networks.
  • Comfortable driving innovation and continuous improvement across service and operations.
  • Committed to upholding company values, ethical standards, and corporate social responsibility.

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences and respond proactively to feedback.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and cost control.
  • Champion innovation through new revenue and efficiency initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with guests, team members, owners, and the local community.
  • Maximise asset value through effective use of physical space and operational excellence.
