The EH& S department of J& J Innovative Medeicine is recruiting for a Staff Expert Occupational Safety to support the Johnson & Johnson Manufacturing Site in Beerse & Olen, Belgium.

As a Staff Occupational Safety at Beerse site, a member of the Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC) EHS team, you will feel the beating heart of our pharmaceutical manufacturing. You support and advise the site in implementation of Occupational Safety policies and practices.

Key responsibilities

  • You will have ownership for specific EH& S topics linked to Occupational or Technical Safety: for example, Work permits, Contractor Safety, Construction Safety, Fall Prevention, Machine Safety, Electrical Safety, Incident Investigation, ….
  • You will address as first point of contact daily related to EHS questions, investigation, technical changes, and continuous improvement initiatives for production.
  • Legal commissioning and all the administration that goes with it of new or modified equipment/workplaces.
  • Support of the operational project teams in their actions: guidance/participation in risk assessments (incl. HAZOP, JSA, …).
  • You are part of a dynamic team of IMSC EHS experts with a focus on controlling all chemical, physical, process safety and occupational hazards as part of the bigger EHS team.
  • Calling in expert colleagues where necessary: e.g. fire brigade, IH, PSM and ergonomics.
  • You promote a culture of continuous improvement and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of operational and EH& S processes including focus on Human Operational Performance.
  • You assist internal and external EH& S audits and inspections.
  • You participate in an on-call system in the context of internal emergency planning at the Beerse site.

Qualification: Education

  • You are technical bachelor or equivalent through experience.
  • You are prevention advisor level 1 or 2.

Experience and Skill

  • You have knowledge and seasoned experience EH& S in a highly regulated industrial context.

  • Ability to interact with people at all levels within a large and complex organization.
  • You are very result oriented, both independently and with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex issues and changes in a problem-solving manner.
  • You are business focused, proactive and can be a true team player.
  • Teamplayer with a can-do mentality.

Preferred

  • You like to work in a high-tech and constantly evolving international environment.
  • You have knowledge in machine safety and are willing to further develop by taking additional training courses.

Other

  • Proficiency in Dutch, as interaction with our operators in the supply chain is required. Fluent in written and spoken English.
