As a Principal Architect, you will take the lead in driving strategic planning, data integration, governance, and platform development. Your expertise will be pivotal in enabling our ongoing research efforts, empowering us to stay at the forefront of innovation. Together, we will develop groundbreaking treatments that are redefining healthcare as we know it.

Collaboration is key and the role will work closely with Data Platform and Engineering Leadership, as well as other architects, to balance business needs with architectural practices and constraints! You'll also play an important role in mentoring teams, encouraging innovation, continuous learning, and inclusion.

Strategic alignment is important in this role. You'll ensure that all technology solutions support MedTech's goal of building a connected ecosystem. This involves developing scalable, purposeful technologies that cater to the diverse needs of various business units and markets.

An important part of your responsibilities includes ensuring solutions are maintainable and aligned with industry regulations. Staying informed about advancements in core technologies such as Azure Data Platform, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and emerging technologies will ensure that the solutions you develop are innovative. Through these efforts, you will contribute significantly to the strategic growth and innovation of the organization.

• Lead our architectural vision, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards while pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
• Design robust, scalable solutions that integrate seamlessly and enforce to enterprise architecture standards.
• Simplify technical concepts for diverse stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and buy-in
• Focus on collaborative innovation by being a partner with engineering, platform, and product teams to align technical implementation with business needs and value.
• Provide architectural guidance on technology, data, and security strategies, mentoring teams to embrace best practices
• Have a security mindset by integrating security measures into every aspect of your designs and educate teams on the latest security standards and risks
• Focus on Data Strategy by developing high-performance data pipelines and governance practices that promote quality and accessibility
• Stay ahead of trends in architecture, ensuring our solutions not only meet current needs but are future-ready
• Develop a culture of innovation through continuous learning, mentoring team members, and driving personal development initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Data product & platform development as an Architect and/or Tech Lead required
• Proficiency in designing relational and non-relational databases, understanding of normalization, and experience with data modelling tools.
• Full software life cycle experience including experience working with CI/CD systems.
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools in the Azure Stack and Databricks.
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and experience implementing security measures for sensitive data and awareness of privacy laws such as GDPR.
• Skills in designing RESTful APIs for data access and integration with other systems.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and experience using analytics tools such as Apache Spark MLlib or TensorFlow.
• Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with tools like JIRA.
• Knowledge of Git or other version control systems for managing code and collaborative development.
• Skills in creating technical documentation for architectures, processes, and data flows to facilitate knowledge sharing within teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, developers, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and communicate solutions effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical people.
• Demonstrable experience leading and mentoring technical team members.
• Experience in Data Products Implementation along with Data Quality Framework.
