Purpose of the Position
The Manager Strategic Capacity Management leads the long-range demand & supply planning process for a specific portfolio of products and technologies.
This position is responsible for driving and evaluating long term supply chain scenarios, identifying critical demand and supply situations, and providing insights and recommendations so that major business decisions can be made.
This function works closely with various partners and must have the experience required to influence people at different levels of the organization (Global Platform leaders, Site General Managers, Partnership & External Supply leads, Network Strategy, E2E Planning, Value Chain Management, Clinical Supply Chain, and other stakeholders).
Responsibilities
Maintain and run the long-range E2E demand and supply models in the team's modeling software.
Drive the annual renewal of the long-range demand and supply plan and develop/share strategic insights and shape recommendations with key partners.
Partner with Clinical Supply and Value Chain to develop a view on the early development pipeline and assess the impact on future (existing and new) technology requirements.
Lead strategic supply chain analyses in the areas of network configuration, portfolio optimization, E2E supply chain optimization, new product introductions, L& A deals, capacity changes in the network and challenge demand and supply chain assumptions/situations according to business needs.
Proactively identify business opportunities related not only to capacity issues in our network, but also to areas such as new product launches, new technology requirements, business continuity planning, inventory/cycle time management, etc.
Develop and implement improvement proposals from a process and modeling software perspective, increasing team efficiency.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a numerate field - engineering, logistics, supply chain, computing, finance, or economics is required; advanced degree is preferred.
Must possess a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a logistics, planning and/or manufacturing environment, within the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Biologics or closely related industry.
Strong business insights to understand how decisions impact different parts of our supply chain.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills are required, as are the abilities to master complexity and to integrate insights into strategies
Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different departments and all levels.
Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully and work independently while demonstrating initiative
Good working knowledge of supply chains / global value chains.
Effective written and oral communication skills (English).
Experience with planning system(s), preferable OMP.
