We are searching for the best talent for Logistics Strategy Manager to be in Beerse.
Purpose: This individual contributor role is responsible for handling worldwide distribution activities of clinical supplies within J& J Pharma R& D (biotherapeutics, vaccines and small molecules; for all phases of clinical trials) as part of the Clinical Supply Chain organization with a high degree of autonomy.
You will be responsible for:
- Handle the overall relationship and maintain oversight of operational performance of Logistics providers and collaborate with QA and Procurement organizations to resolve issues. Conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews with vendor and identify continuous improvements. Compile data and analyze trending through utilization of KPI and quality metrics.
- Serve as point of contact for logistics service providers and in partnership with Quality ensure quality investigations, and corrective/preventive actions are implemented in a timely manner by the service provider.
- Prepare business plan budget forecasts and effectively manage budget for logistics services/consumables with limited guidance
- Lead and manage analysis of potential new logistics service providers in collaboration with business partners (e.g., Procurement, QA) to identify new capabilities and solutions, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective distribution providers are available to end users.
- Identify & lead the implementation of new capabilities and solutions in emerging markets to support the needs of the organization
- Provide subject matter expertise to other Logistics team members, Clinical Supply Integrator and Trial Supply Management to ensure the optimal logistics network is utilized during trial conduct.
- Utilize industry knowledge and collaboration to provide the business with up-to-date and effective solutions for cold-chain, frozen, and narcotics logistics.
- Collaborate with the Deliver organization to apply existing compliance and security resources to the Clinical Supply Chain logistics network
- Develop excellent working relationships across Logistics (TS& E, Logistics Integration, Trade Compliance, API, DP, P& L), within Clinical Supply Chain (i.e. CSI, TSL, API, DP/P& L) and outside of CSC (i.e. QA, Procurement, Vendors, GCO, Deliver).
- Support and provide logistics leadership in GxP audits and health authority inspections
- Support the Quality organization with auditing logistics service providers. Lead the operational/business on-boarding of the new service provider.
- Identify & lead other strategic initiatives as requested.

- Travel: Up to 10%
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution, transportation, and logistics.
- Knowledge of ambient, cold and /or frozen distribution requirements for clinical supplies.
- Proven track record of change management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate internally and externally to develop partnerships with key stakeholders and service providers to identify and deliver logistics and distribution solutions.
- Ability to work in a cross functional and cross-cultural environment
- Effective communication, strong collaboration, operational and data analysis skills.
- General knowledge of GxP principles
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical study needs and clinical operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of IVRS functionality, or EDI-based shipment order processing preferred
- Other critical competencies including strategic thinking, results and performance driven, big picture orientation with attention to details, integrity and Credo based-actions, managing complexity, and fiscal responsibility.
- Intermediate to advanced software skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint)
- Business applications experience, such as SAP Ariba, QEM TrackWise, and/or Interactive Response Technology (i.e. IVRS) platforms
Degree
- A university/bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 8+ years of supply chain experience preferably in logistics / operations or similar industry
- An MBA/MS degree is an asset, as is a certification in APICS
