About you and J& J

Johnson and Johnson is recruiting for a Lead Technical Software Test Engineer withing J& J Technology Services. The position is part of the EMEA Test Engineering Chapter, located in Beerse, Belgium or Limerick, Ireland.

Our team brings testing expertise together, drives standardization on strategy and tools, and develops the right testing skills and talent in a shared community. The Chapter deploys test engineers onto a variety of software product squads with a wide range of technologies. Test engineers are responsible for test strategy, tool selection, tactical test design, automation and execution, as well as test planning and management.

Lead Technical Software Test Engineer

Location: Beerse - Belgium, Limerick - Ireland

The Lead Technical Software Test Engineer takes ownership on the operational delivery level and will contribute on tactical level to solutions ranging from functional and technical topics. While being positioned on flagship platforms, technical excellence on testing and test automation in combination with operational leadership is key in providing our partners with a cost-effective and efficient solution for software testing.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver qualitative testing solutions
  • Be considered as the expert in testing within the product squad
  • Provide industry proven strategies and develop and implement innovative solutions while aligning with approved company software development standards, processes and practices
  • Collaborate and align with regional service owners and our vendors, apply oversight, drive resource management and ensuring quality of delivery
  • Drive independently the operational delivery of testing for the engagement and lead up to medium sized teams
  • Actively contribute in testing and test automation using a variety of tools
Contribute to the Test Engineering Chapter
  • Contribute to implementation of standardization on the level of testing tools and processes, both manual and automated.
  • Lead and support others by providing technical leadership on test automation.
  • Provide guidance on testing and testing initiatives on company level
  • Manage knowledge transfer through available channels and audience
  • 7 years of related work experience required, with 3 years in highly mature large enterprise organizations preferred.
  • Experience in developing and delivering testing in large complex enterprises required.
  • Ability to work independently on the testing delivery in a structured way
  • Strong knowledge in testing, test automation using Robot Framework (Selenium) and Tricentis Tosca preferably
  • Strong background in software testing and test automation environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • ISTQB, TMap, TPI Certification or equivalent
  • Technical leadership in test automation - Robot Framework (Selenium), Tricentis Tosca is a plus
  • Agile practical experience (Scrum, SAFe is a plus)
  • Good planning, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to define, shape, and drive projects to completion while effectively collaborating strategically with others with little supervision
  • Comfortable to lead and influence others within the organization.
  • Preferred minimum Education and area: Bachelor in computer science or equivalent working experience
