Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Director, Advanced Insights to join our Innovative Health Engagement and Advocacy. This role is open for applicants based in specified J& J locations in US, Switzerland and Belgium.
Position Summary:
The Director of Advanced Insights will lead the development of strategies and solutions for the Innovative Health Engagement and Advocacy (IHEA). This position is integral in partnering with various internal teams to optimize the usage of IHEA-supported platforms across Global Development (GD). The director will oversee analytics and visualization strategies, ensuring alignment with IHEA’s objectives while maintaining high autonomy.
This role will play a crucial role in translating analytics and visualization strategies into actionable IHEA functional objectives while executing plans with a high level of autonomy. This position is responsible for overseeing the teams and optimizing the tools and platforms developed by IHEA and GD. Additionally, the Director will provide a strategic roadmap for applying advanced analytics to enhance clinical trial efficiencies and ensure that systems are prepared for inspections, offering necessary expertise for FDA and other health authority evaluations.
The Director, Advanced Insights must possess a proven ability to lead, manage, and develop high-functioning, diverse teams. In addition, they should have strong technical expertise in the areas of Business Intelligence (BI), analytics, and data science, along with significant experience in integrating diverse and complex business processes with associated systems infrastructures. This combination of leadership and technical skills is essential for driving innovation and achieving the strategic objectives of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Lead a high-functioning, diverse team to implement industry-leading analytics methodologies across Global Development (GD), focusing on delivering optimized solutions to enhance process efficiencies and provide value for R& D stakeholders.
Develop a strategic approach to remain at the forefront of innovation, applying analytics from planning through to the delivery of solutions in an agile manner and within budget.
Create visibility and increase awareness within the organization regarding the application of new AI/ML methodologies, identifying opportunities to enhance clinical trial design and operations.
Partner with key functions, including Data Science and IT teams, on projects aimed at optimizing and delivering applications and solutions.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders on end-to-end performance management, ensuring the delivery of high-impact activities, such as in clinical studios.
Define and execute a clinical and operations analytics strategy that allows for in-depth insights into clinical and operational data through central monitoring of patient, site, country, and study level data.
Collaborate and contribute to the development and prioritization of value-added GenAI use-cases.
Establish an internal and external benchmarking network to distill best practices in data integration and analytics, both from leading organizations externally and from internal teams within Johnson & Johnson.
Support the team in achieving its full potential by proactively managing and providing support while embracing the CREDO and leadership principles within Global Development.
Provide periodic updates to leadership on initiatives and projects, offering essential input on investment decisions related to platforms, data, and applications.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Computer Science is required.
PhD or Master’s degree is preferred in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related.
Individual should have a relevant bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience working within BI, Analytics and/or Data Warehouse platforms covering clinical development in the Pharma and/or Life Sciences sector(s), with at least 3 years working leading direct or matrixed teams at a senior management level.
Other relevant experiences and skills may be considered by the hiring manager when considering the candidate’s eligibility.
Proven matrix leadership experience with strong influencing and negotiating skills are a key requirement
Technical expertise, preferably in pharmaceutical clinical or a regulated industry operation, with extensive experience gained through working with diverse and complex data integration, warehousing, ingestion
Proven ability to translate and influence business requirements against existing analytics and data integration capabilities whilst identifying capabilities challenges and necessary solutions to ensure realistic goal setting for future analytics modelling
Previous experience leading individuals and teams with a proven track record in developing talent, is required
This position requires expert knowledge of multiple cross-functional eClinical systems, industry trends, industry guidelines and regulations, and best practices. Expert understanding of GCP, ICH, and 21 CFR Part 11 is required.
