Valley Community Services Board is hiring a Family Support Partner in Staunton, VA. This is a full-time position.

Valley Community Services Board (VCSB) is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and family-centered Family Support Partner to join our Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) team. This unique peer support position provides guidance, advocacy, and encouragement to caregivers of children and adolescents with behavioral health, developmental, substance use, or co-occurring needs. Drawing from lived experience, the Family Support Partner empowers families to navigate complex child-serving systems, build confidence in advocating for their children, and connect with the resources and supports needed to help their families thrive. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, this position helps ensure services are family-driven, youth-guided, trauma-informed, and delivered through the evidence-based High Fidelity Wraparound model. Essential Functions: Family Support, Advocacy, and Peer Engagement Provide peer-based family support services grounded in lived experience and recovery-oriented principles.Build trusting relationships with caregivers to promote hope, empowerment, and family-driven decision-making.Support families in navigating behavioral health, education, juvenile justice, developmental disability, and social service systems.Help caregivers identify their family's strengths, needs, and goals while promoting active participation in service planning.Educate families about behavioral health services, treatment options, diagnoses, and available community resources.Coach caregivers in communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, meeting participation, and shared decision-making skills.Promote self-advocacy and confidence in working with schools, providers, and service systems. Care Coordination and Community Resource Linkage Collaborate with Intensive Care Coordinators to support implementation of High Fidelity Wraparound plans.Assist families in identifying and accessing community resources, natural supports, and behavioral health services.Provide information and referrals related to mental health, substance use, developmental disabilities, and family support programs.Participate in Child and Family Team meetings and other multidisciplinary planning activities.Maintain communication with service providers to promote coordinated, person-centered care.Support families during transitions between levels of care and across service systems. Documentation and Professional Practice Complete documentation accurately and within required timeframes in accordance with DBHDS, DMAS, Medicaid, and agency requirements.Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Human Rights regulations, and agency policies.Participate in supervision, team meetings, High Fidelity Wraparound training, and coaching activities.Collect and report service data to support quality improvement and program outcomes.Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and appropriate peer support boundaries.
