The Database Management Specialist – Senior provides leadership and oversight for the planning, development, and management of enterprise database projects. This role manages staff and database resources, ensuring optimal allocation and performance to meet mission and organizational goals. The Senior Specialist leads strategic planning for database operations, prepares and presents technical briefings on DBMS concepts, and provides daily supervision and direction to support staff engaged in database administration and maintenance activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage the development and execution of database projects across enterprise environments.
· Plan and budget database resources and personnel in alignment with project and organizational objectives.
· Reallocate staff and database resources as necessary to maximize operational benefits and efficiency.
· Prepare and deliver presentations on Database Management System (DBMS) concepts, practices, and project progress.
· Provide daily supervision, technical direction, and mentorship to database support staff.
· Oversee adherence to database administration standards, data integrity, and security protocols.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Twelve (12) years of relevant experience.
· Demonstrated experience managing the development of complex database systems and projects.
· Ability to plan and allocate staff and technical resources effectively.
· Strong communication and presentation skills to convey DBMS concepts and project strategies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
· Experience leading large database management teams in enterprise or DoD environments.
· Familiarity with federal data management policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
· Ability to implement process improvements to increase database efficiency and performance.
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
CLEARANCE:
· Must possess an IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3).
WORK LOCATION:
· Philadelphia, PA
