The Database Management Specialist provides highly technical expertise and support in the design, implementation, and use of Database Management Systems (DBMS) supporting enterprise and mission-critical applications. This role ensures database integrity, security, and recoverability across processing environments, and contributes to evaluating, recommending, and maintaining the most effective DBMS products and configurations to meet validated user requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide highly technical expertise and support in the use and administration of Database Management Systems (DBMS).

· Evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements.

· Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.

· Develop, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery procedures to ensure system integrity and availability.

· Ensure data integrity, security, and recoverability are built into all DBMS applications and environments.

· Support database design and system analysis efforts as part of ongoing enterprise operations.

· Provide technical recommendations and documentation to improve the efficiency and reliability of DBMS-based systems.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Seven (7) years of relevant experience in database management and system administration.

· Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority in information technology or database management.

· Experience in DBMS system analysis and programming.

· Experience using current DBMS technologies and application design tools across various database management systems.

· Experience working with DBMS internals and core database components.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:

· Experience in enterprise-level database environments requiring performance optimization and system scalability.

· Familiarity with DoD or federal information assurance and data protection standards.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data structure and integrity.

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.

· Relevant technical certification required.

CLEARANCE:

· Must possess an IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3).

· Philadelphia, PA
