Job Title: Managing Director, RMTA The Radiopharmaceutical Manufacturers & Theranostics Alliance (RMTA) is seeking an innovative Managing Director to lead this member-driven trade association alliance. About RMTAThe Radiopharmaceutical Manufacturers & Theranostics Alliance (RMTA) is the leading association and collective voice for the radiopharmaceutical and contrast agent sector. Members include developers of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, as well as manufacturers of isotopes, contrast agents, nuclear imaging technologies, and integrated theranostic platforms. RMTA pursues policies that improve patient care through patient safety, product quality, and ensuring access to critical innovative diagnostics and therapies for patients suffering from cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's, and other chronic and non-chronic health conditions. RMTA is a division of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). The OpportunityThis role will be responsible for advancing RMTA's provide strategic priorities, strengthening member engagement, guiding committee work, operational, and serving as a visible external representative for the radiopharmaceutical and theranostics sector. The Managing Director will lead the development and implementation of integrated strategies across government regulatory programs, federal and state level policy and advocacy aligned with RMTA's priorities. The Managing Director will work closely with network members to inform the development and execution of these strategies to advance RMTA's influence and success. Ensure deep understanding of member needs and leverage those insights to strengthen alliance's capacity and coordinate advocacy actions in support of regulatory and policy priorities. Integrate stakeholder engagement and coalition building in support of RMTA's policy and advocacy priorities across the national organization, with members and with external stakeholders/partners. This position reports to NEMA's Senior Vice President, Regulatory and Legal Affairs, and is based in Arlington, Virginia, allows for a hybrid work schedule, consideration may be given for flexibility in location. Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of integrated strategies that support RMTA's policy priorities including federal regulatory programs focused on protecting, increasing regulatory resources and funding focused on advanced diagnostics, therapeutics and adjacent technologies and promotion of federal and access policies. Ensure that these efforts are aligned with RMTA's Strategic Initiative. Coordinate collaboration across member committees, to leverage connections and relationships with lawmakers, federal agencies and the administration. Also ensure they are responsive to the evolving political and policy landscape and informed by holistic policy analysis and assessment. In partnership with the Government Affairs Committee team, Coverage, Coding and Payment Committee co-lead efforts to mobilize and engage external relationships with other industry associations, patient advocacy groups, specialty societies network to advocate for impactful policies and increase the RMTAs advocacy capacity and external recognition by policy makers as an influencer and informer of policy change. Inform RMTA committee decisions by embedding deep network engagement into the development of policy priorities and advocacy strategies. Regularly engage with other associations and relevant organizations within the RMTA ecosystem to ensure strategic alignment and transparent decision-making. Strengthen leadership and member understanding of alliance needs, challenges, and realities. Lead efforts to align member outreach and ensure resources are deployed coherently to support advocacy engagement and policy work. Provide regular policy communications to network members, ensuring alignment and effective engagement on RMTA initiatives. Develop resources to support the policy initiatives. Ensure effective coordination with RMTA members in these efforts in both the execution of strategy and in response to evolving issues. Lead, manage, and mentor the RMTA committees fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability. Manage Consultant relationships to inform, influence and respond to policies impacting RMTA priorities Integrate efforts to build, sustain and leverage effective relationships across the political spectrum with policy makers, Hill / Administration staff, federal agencies (including but not limited to FDA, NRC, CMS, DOE) and with key external organizations and partners. Support the planning and execution of the Hill Days and other events that catalyze stakeholders to promote RMTA policy agendas, often in collaboration with other industry partners and associations. Represent RMTA and its members as needed at governmental hearings, legislative forums, coalition meetings, and with key partners to advance the organization's policy agenda. Required Experience and Qualifications: 12 - 15+ years' experience in issue/policy advocacy and/or federal and state legislative and regulatory processes. Understanding of healthcare, preference on advanced technologies including diagnostic or therapeutic advancements. Sound understanding of life sciences and the communities in which they serve and how they are impacted by federal and state policy decisions and federal programs is a key differentiator. Leadership experience in an association is preferred . Proven track record of successfully seeking and translating input from a variety of sources to align stakeholders on a common strategy and activate resources through a coordinated, non-partisan approach. Successful experience in leadership positions in large, cross-functionally matrixed organizations, preferably serving franchise, affiliate, or other decentralized network environments. Adept at managing organizational and business complexity and navigating change. Leadership style encompasses an enterprise mindset, fostering an open and supportive environment, and high standards for personal and collective accountability. Total RewardsThis is an FLSA-exempt, salaried position. NEMA offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package including paid holidays and personal time, flexible working hours, 401(k) plan, and health/dental insurance, as well as commuter subsidies where applicable. The projected compensation range for this position is $200, 000 - $225, 000 annualized (USD). The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal pay equity, location, and other business requirements.
