Description:

The Missons, Concepts and Capabilities (MCC) division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is looking for a CWMD Planning and Operations Manager to provide planning, research, development, operational, and training support along with subject matter expert advice and decision support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) as part of its 24/7/365 Reachback contract.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts to provide analyses for war plans, Combatant Command (COCOM) and national level exercises, and real-world events
  • Developing best practices for application and integration of Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) models and simulations into operations with a focus on identifying modeling and simulation tools solutions to analyze effects on military personnel and equipment
  • Coordinating with a variety of customers including COCOMs, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, military services, Department of Homeland Security, first responders, and local/state/federal officials to elicit requirements and provide tailored analyses and decision support to meet the needs of the customer
  • Leading development, execution, and application of training on current and new modeling and simulation tools for analyzing CBRNE effects on the battlefield

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering and 8 - 10 years of experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in WMD/CBRNE military and emergency management operations
  • Significant military experience (O-4 and above)
  • At least 2 years of experience in Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3)
  • Experience with DTRA Technical Reachback and DTRA RD computational tools (HPAC, EM-1, EMREP, etc.)
  • Experience working with organizations within the Department of Defense (Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, and COCOMs) as well as other government agencies.
  • Prior experience providing planning and analysis support to CWMD programs
  • US citizen
  • Must have a minimum of SECRET clearance with the ability obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Ability to work varying shifts with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong communication skills, technical presentation, teamwork mentality, graphic visualization, and Microsoft Office proficiency skills
