SUMMARY OF CLASSIFICATION:

This description summarizes the requirements of a Production Helper employee performing in the Maysteel Facility. Responsible for assisting production work in the factory environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Maintain safe work environment (i.e., use of personal protective equipment, proper lifting techniques, etc.).
• Start up and stop equipment.
• Familiarize yourself with the tools and instrumentation.
• Clean production areas (sweep, mop, and remove debris).
• Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
• Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
• Mark parts for identification.
• Place equipment on conveyor belt for further processing.
• Scrape waste material from machine.
• Take instructions from management/supervisory staff.

• Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste.
• Work from routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, blueprints, visual aids, or other instructions to manufacture product at required quality levels.
• Assemble Components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approved specifications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma, GED, or equivalency.

Entry level - will train.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 35 lbs. Employees also frequently bend, twist, and reach, and may stand and/or walk up to 8-10 hours per day.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Job consists of working in a manufacturing facility. Will work under close supervision of GSO, Group Leader or Supervisor to perform duties related to production operations and processing.
