Description & Requirements Maximus is seeking a qualified Financial Analyst to join the US Services Group Finance Team. We're seeking an analytical, inquisitive, and communicative individual to succeed in this role. The Financial Analyst will aid the monthly close and financial reporting, plus assist with contract set-up and tracking of a business group. The successful candidate for this position will report to the Senior Manager in Group Finance and will work very closely with the Accounting, Finance, and Operations group(s). This is a hybrid role in Mclean, Virginia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate project financial reporting results for submission to corporate finance and project management.
- Prepare labor and ODCs (Other Direct Charges) for client invoicing and cost reporting; ensure all costs on the invoice are accurate, appropriately supported and reconcile to the accounting system.
- Assist program control staff with ad hoc financial and cost analysis as requested by program management and corporate finance.
- Provide analytical support to program contract staff preparing corporate required reporting of accounts receivable and billed and unbilled reconciliations.
- Track financial status by monitoring variances from forecasts and investigate unusual variances for accuracy.
- Monitor fulfillment expenses closely against forecast assumptions.
- Review incoming vendor invoices for accuracy, provide appropriate codes and monitor payment status.
- Participate in quarterly forecast process which includes leadership reviews, project meetings, analysis of project data, and translation of new business pipeline.
- Compliance of Internal SOX Controls. Provide project data calls of our quarterly testing and adherence to our required reconciliations based on threshold.
- Promote Billing Data Integrity by reviewing / help preparing client invoices and provide detailed review / feedback to project submissions.
- Various analysis to include: revenue reserves, billed/unbilled reconciliation, labor + non-labor postings, billing/invoice adjustments, EACs, contract end dates, funding overrun.
-Work with Group Finance leadership to develop new processes and models that progress our ability to consolidate, report, analyze division level financials.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field required.
- 3-5 years of related experience required.
- Finance/Accounting experience required
- Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills
- Costpoint or similar accounting system experience
- Cognos or similar system experience

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
