Description & Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Elastic Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a key client's Elastic data infrastructure to support real-time data processing and analytics at scale.

This position is contingent on funding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance data pipelines using Elasticsearch and related technologies.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to ensure quick response times in data-driven applications.
• Tune and optimize Elastic stack deployments based on application/customer needs.
• Design and configure ETL data pipelines to ingest customer defined data sets such as application logs, metrics, and or threat events.
• Create custom visualizations and dashboards using Kibana.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
• Monitor and maintain the health of the data infrastructure, ensuring its reliability and availability.
• Implement security measures to protect data integrity and privacy.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and excellence in data management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience working with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana & Beats (ELK Stack).
• Experience in developing data structures, data mapping from various sources to achieve data normalization using Elastic Common Schema.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and data architecture.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for complex cybersecurity challenges.
• Must have experience working with cybersecurity teams to incorporate tools and best practices to facility a robust security posture in a hybrid or cloud environment.

Desired Skills:

• Specific experience with Elastic SIEM is plus.
• Certifications: Elastic Certified Engineer (desired)
• Experience integrating Elasticsearch with external systems (e.g. SOAR tools, Threat Intel Platforms)
• Experience with data management: hot/warm/cold architectures, shard allocation/re-allocation, snapshots & restoration
• Strong experience with evaluating existing Elastic clusters, configuration parameters, indexing, search and query performance tuning, security, and cluster administration.

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
