Description:

KeyLogic is seeking a Remote Senior Software Developer (PHP) who will be responsible for migrating our existing PHP website from on-prem to AWS, upgrading PHP version 5.3 to 8.3, transitioning the framework from CodeIgniter to Laravel, upgrading the database from MySQL 5.7 to 8.4, and updating the Apache HTTP server from 2.2 to 2.4. The role also involves setting up a Git repository, instituting Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) practices, updating search functionality to OpenSearch, developing comprehensive integrated testing, and enhancing the user interface and user experience. As a Senior Software Developer (PHP), you will be working within an Agile DevSecOps team, modernizing web applications for our federal client. You will focus on building intuitive, responsive, and high-performing front-end interfaces that enhance the user experience.

Job Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in PHP development, with a focus on building responsive and interactive applications.
  • Proven experience in securely migrating legacy websites to cloud environments, preferably AWS.
  • Experience in migration and modernization of PHP websites from version 5.3 to 8.3.
  • Experience in transitioning framework from CodeIgniter to Laravel.
  • Experience in upgrading the database from MySQL 5.7 to MySQL 8.4.
  • Experience in updating the Apache HTTP server from version 2.2 to 2.4.
  • Experience in configuring proxy configuration using Nginx.
  • Update search functionality and integrate open-source search engines such as OpenSearch.
  • Integrate and manage EZProxy for secure and efficient user authentication and access management.
  • Develop, automate, and execute integrated testing, including smoke, unit, security, and stress/performance test cases.
  • Enhance and optimize the user interface and user experience.
  • Work with UI/UX frameworks and tools such as Bootstrap, Vue.js, React, or similar.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all processes and systems.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6 or later).
  • Experience working with CSS preprocessors such as Sass or Less.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX best practices, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools, including Git, Bitbucket, or Jira.
  • Experience in verifying code quality with Sonar, perform code clean-up.
  • Strong understanding of OO programming including interfaces.
  • Good teamwork and strong collaboration skills.
  • Experience with best practices and design patterns for writing clean, reusable, and highly organized code.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelors in computer science or related field
