Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Accountant to support the financial management of maintenance and customer support operations within our technology organization. This role partners closely with the Customer Care team to ensure accurate revenue tracking, cost monitoring, and budget management across ongoing service and support activities.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience with operational cost tracking, and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights for non-finance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and reconcile revenue related to maintenance and support contracts in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor budgets versus actual costs for Customer Care and service operations
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including variance explanations
  • Support forecasting activities in collaboration with Customer Care leadership
  • Review labor allocations, time reporting, and vendor expenses for accuracy
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and revenue recognition support
  • Maintain accurate project and cost center setup within ERP systems
  • Provide financial schedules and documentation for audit support
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and operational visibility

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (4-year degree required)
  • 2–4 years of accounting or operational finance experience
  • Experience tracking revenue, budgets, and actual costs
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a technology or services-based company
  • Familiarity with recurring revenue or maintenance contracts
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606 a plus)
  • Experience supporting operational or customer support teams

Education

Required
  • 2 to 4 Years Related Work Experience or better in Accounting
Preferred
  • Bachelors or better in Accounting
