Financial Analyst

The Hampton Industrial Gas Turbines (IGT) business is seeking a Financial Analyst in support of the finance function at the Hampton, VA manufacturing facility. This position reports to the IGT Controller.

Job Summary : The primary responsibility of this position will be to provide key financial support to the location, including daily and weekly financial analyses as well as monthly forecasting and reporting. The role will also involve providing support to the annual budget process and our monthly internal control testing and compliance regime. In addition, there will be a requirement to provide regular support to the location team in managing our spend commitments and driving business decisions. The role will require a process-improvement mindset to further support the significant growth of the Hampton facility over the coming years.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :
  • Support monthly financial forecasts, weekly projections, financial and operational results analysis, monthly account reconciliations, inventory analyses, and spend reduction activities.
  • Perform Howmet Self-Assessment audits as well as ensuring SOX compliance.
  • Prepare and analyze account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Review, analyze and report monthly manufacturing variances and plant expenses.
  • Assist internal and external auditors where required.
  • Provide management with appropriate reports to aid decision making.
  • Assist with month-end close activities.
  • Develop process improvements to improve the efficiency of the Finance team where appropriate.

  • Effective communication style, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Self-starter with good attitude, demonstrating enthusiasm to learn about the business.
  • Effective presenter of information.
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Excel and other Office Applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
