Job Title: Accountant (Fund Accounting)

Supervisor: Fund Accounting Manager

Location: Corporate

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the accounting functions related to credit investments and funds. Completing monthly bookkeeping by recording journal entries and preparing bank reconciliations and workpapers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by Harbor Group Management.

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for bond securities, preferred equity and mezzanine loans and simple fund structures.

• Reconcile bank accounts monthly.

• Prepare workpapers for bond securities, preferred equity and mezzanine loans and simple fund structures.

• Assist in the preparation and payment of monthly asset management fees and investor rebates.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly billing statements for preferred equity and mezzanine loans.

• Communicate with debt asset managers on the collection of payments.

• Prepare distribution calculations for credit investments and assist fund accounting manager to recommend a quarterly distribution.

• Prepare quarterly net balance sheet reporting for credit investments.

• Assist in the recording of purchases, originations, and securitizations of investments.

• Coordinate with other departments for supporting documents necessary for monthly accounting.

• Work on various special projects with internal and external groups as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • BS degree in Accounting or equivalent.

• CPA a plus

• 1-2 years of accounting experience; public accounting or investment/fund accounting experience a plus

• Previous experience with Yardi, MRI, or other accounting systems preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & PowerPoint; very strong Excel skills along with ability to learn new accounting systems.

• Knowledge of and experience with US GAAP; knowledge of IFRS a plus.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical skills.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.

• Excellent interpersonal & communications skills, both verbal and written; ability to communicate with external sponsors and investors.

• Ability to assimilate and summarize large quantities of data precisely and succinctly.

• Ability to prioritize, manage time well, meet critical deadlines, and work well under pressure.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
