This position will cover the Virginia market. The preference location for this role is Richmond, but candidates may also reside in the following areas: Richmond, Winchester, Harrisonburg, Roanoke, or Chesapeake.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Represent GPLS as a l eader in p roviding p roducts and s ervices . Establish the Lift Systems Division as an aggressive distributor for Specialty Material Handling equipment products and services that enhance safety and productivity in our customers' workplace . Maintain adequate contact with existing customers while aggressively seeking new customers.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain the Business (CRM) Customer Management Relationship System in accordance with Company Policy


  • Responsible for supporting the sales representatives with knowledge and support on key specialty allied products . These products include TICO; Gem; Polaris; Taylor Dunn, Combi-Lift; Genie and JLG


  • Become the Gregory Poole expert in these key product lines with a complete understanding of the product lines, the pricing structure and the target customer base


  • Assist in the development of a marketing plan to proactively promote these strategic product lines to our customer base


  • Work with and train the sales team on the product lines


  • Assist in the sales process from quoting, to demo s, to face to face selling on these lines


  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our strategic allied vendors


  • Develop sales forecasts for these strategic product lines


  • Follow up on all leads to e nsure we are actively working all opportunities


  • Fully utilize all promotional materials and programs to increase sales assisting management with determining specific customer needs and preparing materials in a professional arrangement to match the customer's needs.


  • Prepare accurate equipment sales quotes in accordance with Company processes and present to customers for acceptance.


  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of territory activities including sales awareness, truck population, sales history, and competitive activities.


  • Regularly and on time submit an accurate record of business expenses for reimbursement . Targeted for the 25th of each month.


  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies related to our product mix and with current methods and philosophies of material handling.


  • Attend all scheduled sales training or meetings and participate in trade show or special customer events.


  • Participate in the delivery of New Machines sold in territory.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Four-year business/marketing or similar degree from an accredited college; or a high school graduate with off-setting years of technical and/or outside accounts capital equipment sales experience.


Work Experience:

  • The potential candidate should have 5+ years of sales experience in either an inside or outside capacity .


Physical:

  • Can travel for extended periods daily with occasional overnight stays.


Other:

  • Understands customer purchase motivations and sales cycle for preparing the bidding process for consultative sales.


  • Must have a valid appropriate state driver's license with acceptable driving record.


  • Have strong time management skills


  • Must have intermediate PC skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


  • Must have excellent internal and external customer service skills
