Senior EMI Engineering Technician

Job Summary:

The Sr. EMI Engineering Technician is responsible for testing and evaluating all ESA goggles and intensifier tube types for compliance to MIL-STD-461.

Responsibilities and tasks:
  • Providing technician support for US Government EMI testing across product lines to include but not limited to BiNOD, FNVB, ENVG and SENVG.
  • Complete necessary assignments in support of successful resolutions to assigned project(s). This will include, but not be limited to, EMI testing, diagnosis of required fixes to pass EMI, re-soldering boards, building units, testing functionality on products and creation of or maintaining repair documentation.
  • Responsible for departmental documentation, order entry, data entry, process improvement opportunities and implementation, monthly reports.

Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification:
  • 2 years post-secondary/AA-AS degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years related technical experience
  • Soldering certificate/experience
  • Electronics certificate/experience
  • Troubleshooting experience
  • Proficient in various computer programs such as Excel, Word and able to learn ESA factory programs

Preferred Skills:
  • Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Testing experience
  • Familiar with night vision equipment, image tube evaluation and test experience
  • Experience with night vision goggle assembly, build, and use of various night vision test equipment
  • Technical repair
  • Training/teaching experience
  • Experience with Fault Analysis

Skills and Abilities:
  • Technically capable, able to use hands on tools and test equipment and microscopes
