Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Scheduling Coordinator to join our (Ashland LLC, Specialty ingredients G.P. business at our Hopewell, VA facility (this could be a Hybrid role) . This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Logistics function. This position will report to Logistics Manager .

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Key responsibilities associated with the S& OP process at the manufacturing level include maintaining a collaborative relationship with senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage production schedules for finished goods and sub-assemblies, ensuring alignment with demand, capacity, and business priorities.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of material consumptions, adequate inventories of raw materials, and executing routine cycle counting and process order reconciliation.
  • Effectively communicate with operations and site supporting functions, including corporate partners.
  • Maintain proper inventory and production records to ensure SOX compliance.
  • Advise leadership and support staff of any issues pertaining to assignment completion.
  • Participate in planning, production, and safety meetings.
  • Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals, and focusing on performance and safety
  • Improve the organization's capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent, and utilizing positive communications and influence with others


What This Role Is Not:
  • Not a management position - while you will collaborate with other team members, this is an individual contributor role with no direct reports
  • Not an entry- level position - we need a candidate to hit the ground running with solid experience and a background to prove it


In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
  • Associates Degree in Business, or another technical field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or another relevant industry.
  • Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
  • The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions--creating the new and different
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information under tight deadlines and pressure.


The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit :
  • BS or BA degree is preferred
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Experience in GMP, Food, Pharm, or Cosmetic Ingredient manufacturing.
  • Proficient in using SAP and Infor software or equivalent.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven experience with cycle counting and SOX controls.
  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively to produce measurable results. Define objectives and integrate into the organization quickly and smoothl y. Ability to perform both long- and short-term planning
