The Controller will lead accounting operations, financial close, and compliance for PES. This role is hands-on and execution-oriented, responsible for strengthening core accounting processes while ensuring accuracy, control, and scalability. The Controller will partner closely with FP& A, Sales Operations, and Corporate Accounting to ensure clean financials, effective billing, and strong internal controls.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and oversee customer contracts to ensure proper revenue setup in billing and accounting systems
- Ensure contracts are correctly entered into billing systems, including pricing, terms, and billing schedules
- Oversee billing, invoicing, and collections, including AR aging and cash application
- Ensure revenue recognition complies with ASC 606 and company policies
- Maintain and enhance SOX controls, documentation, and audit readiness
- Partner with Corporate Accounting on consolidations, reporting, and compliance requirements
- Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and process documentation
- Manage and develop accounting staff; provide coaching and oversight of daily activities
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and responses
- Collaborate with FP& A to ensure alignment between operational activity and financial reporting
- 8+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close ownership
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles
- Experience with contract review, billing setup, and AR processes
- Experience operating in a SOX-compliant environment
- Prior people management or team leadership experience
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to execute in a hands-on role
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- CPA licensed
- Experience in SaaS, data, analytics, or services-based businesses
- Experience working in a public company or matrixed corporate environment
- Experience implementing or improving billing and accounting systems
