Description:

This position will be responsible for working with our Special Assets team to coordinate and be responsible for the repossession and disposition of equipment on defaulted loans. Duties may include retitling of the equipment once repossessed, negotiation of expenses, and the remarketing of the equipment once it becomes bank owned. The position also includes collaborating with internal legal counsel and external vendors to recoup the deficiency balances on the defaulted loans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Relationships with Repossession Agents and Transport Vendors
  • Make and receive calls with borrowers regarding troubled loans
  • Respond to phone calls and emails on equipment being sold
  • Negotiate sales with prospective buyers to maximize sale proceeds
  • Coordinate the sale of equipment with prospective buyers through cash purchases, TAB financing (working with Sales and Underwriting teams), or through the buyer’s external sources
  • Process all paperwork for equipment being sold (bill of sale, title work, repossession notices, etc.)
  • Coordinate logistics with auction vendors as equipment moves to auction.
  • Scan all related documents consistent with TAB’s document retention requirements
  • Document all related expenses, including maintaining receipts and submitting expense reports
  • Establish purchase orders with vendors and submit invoices for payment with Accounts Payable
  • Reconcile expenses for each piece of equipment sold
  • Assist in clearing the Special Assets bancontrol account
  • Understand bankruptcies and the impact of repossessing equipment when the borrower or guarantor files for bankruptcy protection
  • Calculate loan deficiencies and send for collections
  • Coordinate internal and external collection efforts on recovering loan deficiency balances
  • Work with external legal counsel as needed to file legal complaints
  • Complete other duties and assignments as needed

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Experience working with installment loans
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Precision loan posting, and maintenance preferred
  • Sales negotiation skills helpful
  • Customer service skills

  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to work independently and meet timelines
  • Demonstrated ability in communicating effectively, both verbally and written
  • Strong Microsoft application knowledge (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook) and aptitude for grasping and using various bank software applications
