Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of a Relationship Manager (“RM”) is to nurture and grow medium to high profile client relationships while professionally representing TAB Bank. An RM must anticipate client needs, properly manage collateral and availability, analyze and proactively respond to account trends, prepare credit summaries and memos, present credit summaries to loan committee, promote and sell TAB services, and meet with clients at their place of business. Additionally, an RM must possess a demonstrated capability to create high-quality client reports and presentations, analyze and report on the credit worthiness of clients, and perform other client outreach activities as required. RMs are expected to spend approximately 10% of their time each year traveling to meet with clients and to perform basic due diligence. Finally, an RM is expected gain a sound understanding of their clients’ industry to facilitate meaningful financial coaching. As an RM progresses, he/she may be asked to manage and/or mentor other RMs and manage various assigned projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple client relationships with outstanding customer support while adhering to TAB’s credit policy.
  • Analyze account trends, manage collateral, disburse funds, and manage client availability.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish client requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Retain existing clients.
  • Work with various departments to continuously improve the working capital product.
  • Respond in a positive manner to constructive criticism from managers and peers.
  • Meet with clients at their plaice of business to build lasting relationships.
  • Promote and cross sell TAB’s products and services to existing clients.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the every client’s business and credit risk profile.
  • Engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Deepen existing client relationships while generating incremental business through cross-selling bank products.
  • Drive and challenge internal and external business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
  • Work well with and demonstrate respect for colleagues at all levels while consistently contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Seek opportunities from team lead or mentor to increase skills and/or learn new aspects of the business.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work with coworkers and managers to prioritize workload.
  • Write error-free client e-mails, credit summaries, memos, and other deliverables that can go directly to loan committee or client with near zero revision.
  • Present credit summaries at Bank Loan Committee and/or Director Loan Committee.
  • Complete all required client reporting as defined by management.
  • Outstanding judgment, and superior client service skills as demonstrated by frequent and unsolicited positive feedback from client
  • A demonstrated ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise.
  • Complete all assigned bank compliance training.
  • Strictly adhere to TAB’s credit policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business discipline or the equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years working in a business-to-business (B2B) environment
  • Experience in financial services and/or banking.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed and fast paced environment
  • Superior skills with the Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Confidence, tact, and a persuasive manner with team members and customers
  • Identifies critical issues with ease
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals ranging from executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Generate enthusiasm among team members

  • Develop relationships with customer personnel that foster customer ties
