Description:

The role of the Equipment Collections Specialist has the primary responsibility managing collection within the transportation equipment portfolio. This involves management and monitoring of the equipment lending collections queue, which includes all aspects of accounts in collections/distress situations. This requires communication directly with customers to obtain financial information and assess credit condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the management of any account that is considered in a collection/distress situation. The areas of responsibility include:

  • Responsibility for outbound and inbound collections calls
  • Oversight and customer communication regarding payment negotiations and changes in payment plans within the guidelines of the Bank
  • Tracking and monitoring trends in payments/delinquency as well as collateral values
  • Updating reports for tracking of departmental collection metrics
  • Working with third party repossession agencies in the recovery of collateral
  • Assist with updating all data associated with impairment analysis, ALLL report, and watch list
  • Assist in the development of the banks recovery queue for deficient balances
  • Assist with sending out Default letters with accounts that are in default for various reasons
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years successful work experience in collateral related collections environment
  • Experience working with repossession agencies and auctions a plus
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management skills
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity of Class 8 trucks, Dry van trailers, reefer trailers and other over the road equipment
  • Willingness to change direction with short notice and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to extract, compile, analyze and report data from core systems a strong plus
  • Ability to effectively work with others and maintain a positive demeanor
  • Strong Microsoft application knowledge (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook) and aptitude for grasping and using various bank software applications such asPrecision, New TABOS, Business Analytics, ncino/Salesforce
