OverviewResponsible for safely executing operations of In-Line Inspection (ILI) equipment during service work assignments to achieve satisfactory completion of the job and assigned task.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure ILI equipment, tools and assets are properly cleaned, maintained, and built to enable successful completion of ILI projects, meeting and/or exceeding the expectations of clients, field technicians, and equipment coordinator.
- Perform handling, assembly, operations, testing, cleaning, and disassembly of ILI equipment, tools, assets, and components.
- Use mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics to prepare and assemble electro/mechanical parts.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical assets at the individual component level.
- Modify, maintain, repair, test, and upgrade ILI equipment, tools, assets, and components prior to field deployment in accordance with established assembly and configurations, procedures and standards detailed by engineering, quality, global training and support and/or customer requirements.
- Review mechanical and electrical documentation to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material and escalate through approved channels.
- Review project requirements and with the assistance of a Electro-Mechanical Technician and/or Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician and make necessary tool modifications prior to tool deployment.
- Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deficiencies by fabricating or modifying parts, using available tools and materials.
- Assist in the development, assembly, and testing of new design ILI equipment, tools, assets, and components.
- Use appropriate forms and software to document new build, maintenance/repair and upgrade histories of ILI equipment, tools, assets, and components.
- Ensure internal customers are properly informed of operating requirements for safe and efficient completion of projects.
- Procure components from inventory and inspects all required components/parts required for the operation of the tool following all established quality control procedures.
- Complete reports and documents on tool builds, in accordance with workflow procedures and quality control procedures.
- Recommend upgrades and modifications to improve asset performance.
- Comply with all T.D. Williamson (TDW) policies and requirements.
- Perform any business-related task as directed by leadership.
- Coordinate with global training and support for ongoing training and guidance related to tool design changes, software upgrades, or revisions to standards, policies, and procedures, may assist if requested.
- Complete and pass all training courses, modules, and bulletins assigned.
- Perform housekeeping and maintenance assignments set by leadership.
- Maintain inventory control of electronic and mechanical components.
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, and global training and support to obtain new product information and troubleshoot design and/or testing issues.
- Maintain professional attitude and behavior when communicating and interacting with both internal and external customers.
- Follow HSE policy by applying the instructions and procedures of the HSE manual, by participating actively in the Hazards and (Near-miss) Incident Identification and by behaving safely.
- Perform HSE tasks as required by TDW policy and/or directed by leadership.
- Follow all HSE policies and requirements to perform work safely.
- Follow directives of the Quality System (ISO 9001: 2015) chosen by applying the instructions and procedures of the system as specified in the documents of: Quality Manual, Quality System Procedures, and Instructions.
- Work requires traveling up to 20.0% of the time, including overnight stays.
Experience- High School Diploma required.
- Associate and/or bachelor's degree in electronics preferred.
- Certificate of completion in an electronics discipline preferred.
- One (1) year of mechanical, electronic, and technical experience with ILI tools preferred.
Successful completion of IPC (Association Connecting Electronics Industries) training: IPC J-STD for Operators, IPC-A-610 for Operators, WHMA/IPC 620 for Operators, Inspection of Electronics Assemblies: Introduction, & Practical Exam. - Successful completion of all promotion requirements and demonstration of required experience, skill, and behavior competencies to promote from Electro-Mechanical Trainee to Electro-Mechanical Technician.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Electronic Technology.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of all TDW ILI technologies, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to safely and properly use hand tools and small power tools used in the fabrication of electro-mechanical devices.
- Excellent soldering skills necessary for fabrication of wiring harnesses and electrical assemblies used in ILI equipment, tools, assets, and components.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail including strong sense of urgency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assemble complete electro-mechanical devices, such as ILI equipment, tools, assets, and components. with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Ability to interpret information, isometric drawings, and electronic data.
- Ability to sit, walk, and stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Strong hand and eye coordination with the ability to manipulate small electronic and mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to lift and hold up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to speak English required.
