Description:
How You Will Make an Impact
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible to identify and improve the value stream with a focus on efficiencies, cost reduction and increasing customer satisfaction
The Nuts and Bolts
Identify and facilitate process improvement projects to reduce lead time, improve inventory turnover, scrap and rework, direct labor cost savings, and revenue increases
Conduct root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/ business and assembly issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, and facility design
Lead continuous improvement project teams and conduct training to drive cultural change through "learn by doing" exercises and workshops
Carry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping
Develop budgets, project plans (GANT Charts) and cost analysis to determine project feasibility
Establish a Standardized Work tool/process and launch with production supervisors and team members
Support material flow improvements in scheduling (Kanban, sequencing, kitting) and material handling methods
Establish and manage a 5S improvement plan and a layered process audit process
Track the Continuous Improvement Team's KPI and provide regular updates on project status and progress
Improve the upfit efficiency, productivity, and capacity by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and shop/branch layouts
Lead a Continuous Improvement team and/or Industrial Engineers
Assist/lead onboarding of new acquisition sites, mentor site leadership to incorporate Reading core competencies
Required Credentials
Bachelor's Degree in a related field strongly preferred
5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment implementing successful Lean transformations
Lean Certification preferred
