General PurposeWe are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Architect with strong hands-on development expertise in JavaScript to lead the design, development, and optimization of our ServiceNow platform. This role will be responsible for defining platform architecture, ensuring best practices, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing ServiceNow solutions across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of the ServiceNow platform with the ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while mentoring developers and collaborating with stakeholders.
Essential Duties- Design and own the overall ServiceNow architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and security
- Ensure proper ACL administration
- Lead technical solution design across ServiceNow modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM)
- Develop and review custom JavaScript solutions, including:
- Business Rules
- Script Includes
- Client Scripts
- UI Policies & UI Actions
- Flow Designer / Workflows
- Define and enforce ServiceNow development standards and best practices
- Perform code reviews, refactoring, and optimization
- Guide integrations using REST, SOAP, MID Server, and third-party APIs
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical direction
- Support platform upgrades, patching, and performance tuning
- Mentor ServiceNow developers and administrators
- Ensure solutions align with ServiceNow out-of-box capabilities and minimize technical debt
- Lead cross-functional and multi-department teams in ServiceNow platform administration and development
- Work with ServiceNow support and other technical teams to address and resolve issues, incidents, and problems within the platform
- Ensure documentation on platform configuration is produced, maintained, and comprehensive
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to ServiceNow solution
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 3 years experience in ServiceNow development and administration
- Strong JavaScript development experience within ServiceNow
- Deep understanding of:
- ServiceNow data model
- ACLs and security architecture
- CMDB and CSDM principles
- Update Sets and Application Scope
- Experience designing enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations
- Hands-on experience with integrations (REST/SOAP, JSON, XML)
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-optimization skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Available to work in Salt Lake City, Utah
Preferred Qualifications- ServiceNow certifications such as:
- Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS)
- Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
- Certified Master Architect (CMA)
- Experience with ITSM, CSM, SPM, ITOM Discovery, Event Management, and/or Service Mapping
- Experience in regulated or enterprise environments (HIPAA, SOX)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Experience managing teams
- ITILv4 Experience and/or certification
Physical Demand- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Consistent use of hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other computer equipment.
- Capacity to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over video conferencing, and by phone.
- Occasional movement within an office environment, including walking, standing, and attending in‑person meetings.
- Ability to review detailed technical documentation, diagrams, and digital content for prolonged periods.
- May occasionally be required to lift or move equipment or materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to work standard business hours, with occasional flexibility to support critical system events, upgrades, or incident response.
