Bridgerland Technical College is seeking a Full-Time High School Automation Instructor to join our team in Logan, Utah. This onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to introduce high school students to the world of industrial automation, robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, and advanced manufacturing technologies. As a High School Automation Instructor, you'll help students develop the technical knowledge, hands-on skills, and confidence needed to pursue careers in today's rapidly evolving manufacturing and automation industries. Through engaging classroom instruction, project-based learning, and real-world applications, you'll prepare students for future education and high-demand careers in advanced manufacturing. About Bridgerland Technical College Bridgerland Technical College is one of Utah's eight technical colleges. We provide high-quality, technical education to those in the Bear River Region. What You'll Do As a High School Automation Instructor, you'll create engaging learning experiences that prepare students for future success in advanced manufacturing and industrial automation. Key responsibilities include: Plan, develop, and deliver organized learning opportunities aligned with approved curriculum.Teach automation concepts including PLCs, robotics, industrial controls, sensors, pneumatics, electrical systems, troubleshooting, and manufacturing processes.Provide hands-on instruction using industry-standard automation equipment and software.Create a safe, engaging, and student-centered learning environment.Assess student learning through projects, demonstrations, assignments, and practical evaluations.Monitor student attendance, progress, and achievement.Maintain accurate student records and support student advising and career exploration.Collaborate with faculty, staff, and local high schools to promote student success and program excellence.Build and maintain relationships with industry partners to ensure curriculum reflects current workforce needs.Model professionalism, workplace safety, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of instructional equipment and laboratory resources.Support program development and continuous improvement initiatives. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a skilled automation professional who enjoys mentoring students and helping them discover exciting careers in technology. Required Qualifications High school diploma.Experience troubleshooting, programming, installing, or maintaining industrial automation systems.Strong knowledge of PLCs, robotics, industrial controls, sensors, and automated systems.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to effectively teach technical concepts to high school students.Commitment to maintaining a safe, engaging, and student-focused learning environment. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience.Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, FANUC, or similar automation platforms.Strong organizational and classroom management skills.Ability to inspire students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles.Basic computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
