About us
In Camden we are committed to working together to make our borough the best place to live, work, study, and visit. Partnership with our communities is central to the way we work, so that everyone can access opportunities, and nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
The role
This dedicated Green Space Project Officer (Green Infrastructure Lead) role will serve as a catalyst for a borough-wide highways greening initiative, aligning with the council's strategic priorities and capitalising on the increasing community interest in making Camden a greener borough. While green infrastructure alone cannot resolve climate mitigation challenges in Camden, it can serve as a powerful tool to address local flood risk, promote biodiversity, cool our streets and buildings, as well as foster a better connection between people and nature.
The post will manage the delivery of green space within the high-profile Camden Transport programme within the council, adopting a mission-oriented approach to delivery. A key part of this work is implementing the findings and guidance developed as part of the Highways Greening Accelerator project.
The role will also be responsible for delivering a portfolio of new highways greening projects from inception through to completion. Although the role sites within the Green Space team, the role will involve working closely with Transport and Highways colleagues.

Key objectives of the role
In this role you will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team and contribute to our commitment to deliver for the people of Camden.
About you
We are looking for someone with a thorough, working knowledge of green space, landscape and transport policies, plans and issues in an inner city environment. You will need to have excellent project management skills and proven experience in effectively project-managing landscape and public realm initiatives.
Your experience will also include contract procurement, monitoring and management, dealing with contractors and sound technical knowledge of the range of services that interact with highways and transport projects within the council.
You will have an excellent track record of financial management, budget control and experience of delivering services within financial limits.
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to devise and manage appropriate and effective consultation and engagement exercises with local communities, work closely with elected members and manage public meetings.
