Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Threading Supervisor will coordinate and control the production line, or other units within the mass production organization. Manage the line safely, economically, and efficiently to produce the desired business operating results for Vallourec North America and meet Customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deploy company safety program as a priority
  • Supervise and Lead an assigned workforce comprised of skilled and semi-skilled labor on 3-5 production lines
  • Directs workforce to adhere to all applicable work instructions, specifications, and work order requirements.
  • Assures that all jobs are completed in proper priority to meet production schedule.
  • Responsible for the full implementation of an Integrated Management System (IMS) within the area.
    • Especially coordinating the Employee Empowerment program as well as leading the daily support team walkthrough (FST, LMT, 2 Second Lean)
    • Ensuring accuracy of the production data (Down Time Summaries, Intouch shift profile, #, coding, opening time)
    • Analyzing trends and building related action plans.
  • Leads in the implementation and cooperation of all Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment (QHS& E) topics for the wellbeing of all employees. Accountable for ensuring all work performed maintains a high standard of quality and meets all Company and Customer requirements.
  • Drives for Continuous Improvement in all aspects of the area through the Vallourec Management System seeking ways to increase productivity, profitability, and elimination of waste. Including leading Continuous Improvement Teams.
  • Leads and participates in Continuous Improvement Teams and their action plan.
  • Responsible for assigning work according to priority and complexity to maximize efficiency, quality standards, and productivity.
  • Performs appraisals via JSA methodology on all assigned personnel as scheduled.
  • Leads in the development of personnel under his/her responsibility and makes recommendations on personnel actions such as needs for OJT Training, promotions, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Defines, plans, coordinates, and maintains daily toolbox talks and, weekly/monthly training requirements.
  • Routinely audits production lines in adherence to quality and craftsmanship standards
  • Responsible for eliminating rejects and minimizing failing processes for assigned areas, and must direct or participate, as applicable, in corrective action.
  • Continually expand knowledge of work procedures via assistance with revisions and procedural reviews.
  • Assist with OTJ training of personnel as required by procedure or revision.
  • Engage in annual educational opportunities as provided by Vallourec University or AMA for professional development.
  • Provide support to Management for special projects as requested, including transversal projects covering all production.
  • Must follow all company policies, practices, and regulations to include Safety and Quality.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
  • Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and TPM principles or the strong desire to learn them.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related or 5+ years of equivalent experience within manufacturing in a leadership/management position preferred.
