UTHealth Houston is seeking a Wellness Biomedical Screener to deliver corporate and community wellness initiatives across various organizations. This role involves conducting biometric screenings, engaging with the public at health fairs, and promoting wellness education. The specialist will travel independently to event locations, support setup and breakdown, and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Position Summary:

Delivers corporate and community wellness programs to various organizations. Develops and maintains relationships to deliver wellness activities that are defined, measured, analyzed and coordinated across UT Physicians.

Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Assists with delivering biometric screening programs to the public at community health fairs for multiple organizations.

2. Participates in Patient Intake, and providing biometric screenings such as height, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, bone density, body fat, BMI, etc.

3. Communicates with the public to explain procedures and programs.

4. Distributes promotional fliers or educational materials.

5. Serves as an active team member in health fairs, health promotions and other team events.

6. Attends and participates in meetings, trainings and staff development.

7. Responsible for set up and breakdown at Health Fair locations.

8. Independently travels to various locations and provides screening services.

9. Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines in regard to patient information.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with participants
Excellent written and oral communication skills

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Minimum Experience:

None; 1 year of experience in healthcare or community wellness programs preferred.
May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
