Position Summary: The Training & Communications Coordinator provides administrative support, maintenance, and facilitation of institution-wide training for the Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) department and the institutional research community. Supports the Director in maintaining training resources to develop and deliver online and face-to-face training opportunities for department administrators, faculty, and staff across the institution. Manages the day-to-day operations of the SPA Internship program and all SPA training programs conducted across the University. This role will also assist with coordinating an internship program. We are looking for a training coordinator to assist with creating modules and training courses for clinical research areas within our Sponsored Projects Administration department. It is desired that you have a background in research administration and giving presentations to groups.

Position Key Accountabilities: - Organizes all aspects of the SPA training programs that are conducted across the university. Tasks include scheduling, creating and maintaining training materials, registration, developing agendas, updating presentations for speakers, catering (if applicable), and course evaluations
- Maintains schedules for interns, trainers, guest speakers, mentors, and various meetings
- Maintains organizational communications such as bulletin boards, training schedules, and user guides to ensure employees know of training and development events and resources
- Ensures content and courses are accurate and maintains timely and complete training registration and statistics in the university's Learning Management System
- Arranges all internship candidate interviews, travel, and manages departmental onboarding system access completion
- Assists with planning events to promote internship opportunities
- Tracks and processes all trainer/mentor monthly payments and reimbursements
- Ensures the appropriate centralized retention of SPA's training manuals and documents
- Builds strong relationships with internal/external partners for the delivery of employee training opportunities
- May assist with data collection and preparing progress reports and may be assigned data integrity projects from various SPA teams.
- May update the SPA website to promote internship opportunities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education: At least a Bachelor's Degree is required
Minimum Experience: 2 years of related experience required; prior coordination of training and education preferred
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive: This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position.
