Position Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Simulation Technician to join our collaborative Simulation Center and Skills Practice Lab (SCPL) team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting immersive healthcare simulation experiences by ensuring simulation equipment, task trainers, medical devices, and audio-visual systems are fully operational and ready for daily learning activities. You will work closely with faculty, staff, and learners to provide hands-on technical and operational support during simulation sessions and skills lab experiences.

Experience in healthcare, clinical, hospital, higher education, or healthcare training environments is highly valued, along with strong problem-solving and customer support skills. As part of a dedicated seven-member team, you will also contribute to ongoing efforts supporting simulation lab accreditation and operational excellence.
Position Key Accountabilities: - Operates and provides technical assistance with simulation and medical related audio-video systems.
- Provides technical assistance, support and training to faculty, instructors, and staff in use of simulation and medical equipment, as necessary.
- Conducts ongoing maintenance of all medical and simulation equipment, including cleaning, repairing, assuring that all equipment is maintained in good working order at all times.
- Sets-up and take-down simulators, medical equipment, and supplies for all sessions. May participate in teaching-related activities.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment and conduct routine inventory updates.
- May obtain cadavers from the UT Human Structure facility, maintain records and transports to and from the laboratory and assist in preparing them. Maintains the cleanliness of the facility and equipment and assists users of the facility during training sessions.
- Maintains current knowledge of simulation and medical equipment catalogs and operation manuals.
- Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills: - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to present content and information to a group to achieve learning or a goal.
- Ability to provide structure to the meeting or training.
- Ability to make people feel comfortable and encourage participation from everyone.
- Work may involve handling biohazardous, chemical, and radiological materials, as well as operating associated equipment. Required safety training and appropriate engineering and administrative controls including the use of personal protective equipment must be followed.
- Medical license and/or certification within specialty preferred
Minimum Education: Associate's Degree in a related field required May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement. required
Minimum Experience: 2 years of related experience required 6 months previous experience in simulation lab preferred
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
