We are hiring a Senior Research Associate (full-time) to join UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Dallas, Tx. In this role you will coordinate research and evaluation activities for multi-site public health projects, including data collection, data management, and analytic coordination. The role works closely with investigators, analysts, and partners to support implementation, translate research questions into data workflows, and produce evaluation reports. Familiarity with statistical or data management software (e.g., Stata R, SAS, SQLL, or similar) and experience working with electronic health records is preferred.

Position Summary:

The Senior Research Associate provides scientific and technical leadership and analytic coordination for
research projects of considerable scope and complexity. The role supports a multi-site evaluation of
community-based health initiatives across North Texas and contributes to other studies at the School of Public Health in Dallas. The Senior Research Associate will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary research team, collaborating with investigators, analysts, and project staff to support data collection, analysis, and project implementation.

Position Key Accountabilities:
  • Provides project management for a wide variety of research activities, including designing data collection
    tools and analytic plans, managing databases, cleaning and coding data, conducting statistical analyses, and coordinating activities with investigators, community partners, and collaborating organizations.
  • Provides project management for a wide variety of research experiments in support of research project
    desired outcomes, budgets, and timelines.
  • Maintains quality control checks and a safe environment in compliance with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
  • Evaluates and interprets data and provides results to investigators to support publication.
  • Provides direction and training to staff to ensure efficient, timely and high quality results in compliance with all protocols, guidelines, regulations, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation and writing of research reports, presentations, manuscripts, papers and grant
    proposals.
  • Prepares communications of research results for the public and/or funding organizations.
  • May oversee study inclusion, the development and tracking the progress of participants and cases.
  • Influences project direction and outcomes by identifying opportunities to enhance, re-terminate, or re-direct research activities.
  • Prepares communications of research results for the public and/or funding organizations.
  • May mentor fellows, graduate students and others as appropriate in support of the University's mission.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Certification/Skills:
  • General knowledge of research field. Experience or interest in working with diverse communities, healthcare disparities, community-based research, electronic health record data and/or implementation or evaluation studies is strongly preferred.

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required Master's Degree preferred

Minimum Experience:
  • 4 years of related research experience required.
  • May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
