UTHealth is hiring!

Description:

Position Summary:

The summer months represent among the most active periods for the Medical Student Research Office, as we support the coordination and execution of key initiatives, including the Summer Research Program (SRP), student onboarding, mentor engagement, compliance tracking, and data management. These efforts require timely, detail-oriented administrative support to ensure a smooth, efficient experience for students and faculty mentors. This time coincides with the end of one Academic and Fiscal Year and the beginning of the next, which requires updating records and reconciling data from other programs, such as the large Scholarly Concentrations Program.

This will be a part-time and hybrid position that will work out of our Jesse Jones Library Building on the third floor. Hours are flexible, averaging five to ten and never more than twenty a week. You should have great attention to detail and an aptitude with numbers.

Position Key Accountabilities:
  • Summer Research Program, which now serves over 100 students. The student worker will assist in tracking attendance at weekly seminars and skills sessions and prepare surveys to collect student assessment data. They will overall enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of MSRO operations by allowing staff to attend to other duties.
  • Scholarly Concentrations Program requires an end of Academic Year reconciling and analysis of data. The student worker will be under the supervision of MSRO staff to analyze existing data and create tables, figures, and charts for the October Executive Advisory Board Meeting and the MSRO Annual Report.
  • External Fellowships Guide, which requires annual updating. The student will check program links and deadlines, and search for additional summer and one-year research programs from around the country.
