What we are looking for:
The Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine is seeking a motivated Seasonal Hire to support active research projects within a dynamic laboratory setting. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in molecular and cellular research while contributing to meaningful scientific investigations focused on advancing human health.

The Seasonal Hire will assist with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of experimental data, conduct literature reviews, and perform accurate data entry and documentation. The role requires technical proficiency in cell culture and molecular biology techniques, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain organized research records. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with research staff and investigators, contributing to ongoing studies and supporting the overall objectives of the Center.

Applicants should have completed coursework in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field. Prior laboratory experience and familiarity with cell culture and molecular biology methods are preferred. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of scientific integrity.

Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

No years of experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.

This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position.
