Dr. Juneyoung Lee's Laboratory is looking for a Seasonal Hire position. This position will involve performing basic lab-based experiments, including animal behavioral tests, tissue processing for histological analysis, and immunohistochemistry, among other tasks. The candidate will establish research collaborations with postdoctoral research fellows, who will be responsible for day-to-day lab training. One year of experience with laboratory and/or scientific procedures, preferred.

This appointment is for a period of less than four and one-half months. This position is funded by grants that comprise 50% or more of the funding. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon the availability of funding for this position. Your employment may end upon the cancellation or discontinuation of the project, program, or funding.

Position Summary:

Under close direction of senior research staff, conducts activities to support research projects.

Position Key Accountabilities:

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Dispenses biohazardous materials by autoclaving and bagging for disposal.
  • Washes and sterilizes glassware, pipets, instruments and tips. Soaks glassware and instruments in dichromate acid to remove stubborn stains.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized lab environment, preparing and storing laboratory supplies.
  • Assist researchers in various experimental procedures, including preparing materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum Education: None. Individuals must be at least 16 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.

    Residency Requirement: Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
