McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics is shaping the future of patient care, disease prevention, and biomedical discovery by transforming data into innovative solutions powered by artificial intelligence, data science, and informatics. We are the only biomedical informatics program with advanced doctoral degrees in Texas and the largest and only free-standing informatics school in the nation.

The Center for Quality Health IT Improvement (CQHII) is seeking a motivated seasonal hire to support project-based work focused on healthcare quality improvement, health IT, and data analytics. This role provides hands-on experience working with clinical performance data, quality reporting programs, and health IT initiatives that support ambulatory care providers.

The seasonal hire will collaborate with CQHII staff on data analysis, reporting, and visualization projects, including performance measurement, quality improvement dashboards, security risk analysis preparation, and evaluation of nationally benchmarked quality metrics.

Seasonal Hires are a temporary status and therefore may not be employed for a period of more than four and ½ months. These individuals may be hired either as full-time or part-time and must be a minimum age of 16 years.

Position Summary:

The Center for Quality Health IT Improvement (CQHII) is seeking a motivated seasonal hire to support project-based work focused on healthcare quality improvement, health IT, and data analytics. This role provides hands-on experience working with clinical performance data, quality reporting programs, and health IT initiatives that support ambulatory care providers.

The seasonal hire will collaborate with CQHII staff on data analysis, reporting, and visualization projects, including performance measurement, quality improvement dashboards, security risk analysis preparation, and evaluation of nationally benchmarked quality metrics.

Position Key Accountabilities:
  • Support analysis of clinical and performance data collected from CQHII partner clinics.
  • Assist with data cleaning, validation, and organization across multiple datasets.
  • Analyze Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) performance results over time for CQHII clients and compare outcomes against national averages.
  • Explore and assist in designing data visualizations or dashboards to showcase provider and clinic progress on quality measures and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to preparation activities for the 2026 Security Risk Analysis, including data collection, documentation review, and analytic support.
  • Help prepare summary reports, tables, charts, and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings and document findings, insights, and progress.
  • Provide general project support and perform other related duties as assigned.
