We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented research assistant to support ongoing scientific projects in a dynamic laboratory environment. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data, as well as assisting with literature reviews and data entry to advance research objectives. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on technical expertise in cell culture and molecular biology techniques, contributing to studies at the intersection of molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry.

Daily responsibilities will include performing molecular biology experiments, maintaining and analyzing cell cultures, and supporting biochemical assays. The individual will work closely with a collaborative team of three postdoctoral researchers and one research assistant, contributing to shared research goals and maintaining high scientific standards.

Candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field. This position is based in a laboratory setting where exposure to chemical and biological substances is expected, requiring adherence to established safety protocols.

Position Summary:

Position Key Accountabilities:

• Under general supervision, performs laboratory experiments and activities to support research objectives
• Collects, organize and prepares research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers. Updates notebooks, records, and databases as needed
• Maintains clean laboratory equipment and/or work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Orders laboratory and/or other supplies as directed by senior research staff.
• Stays abreast of new and updated procedures and protocols for the research laboratory. Must maintain compliance with required training.
• May participate in continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops.
• As needed, may coordinate the work of technicians to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality results.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

• Technical skills in cell culture and molecular biology

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's Degree required May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.

• Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
