The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston invites applications for a research faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. We seek an outstanding vision scientist to join our growing and dynamic research community.

Applications are welcome from investigators with established or emerging programs in basic, translational, or clinical vision research. We welcome candidates with research programs spanning the breadth of ophthalmology and vision science, including, but not limited to, cornea and ocular surface disease, glaucoma, retina, orbit and oculofacial disease, neuro-ophthalmology, ocular oncology, pediatric ophthalmology, and other areas of vision research. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to the department's educational mission through interactions with graduate and medical students, residents, and fellows.

Position Responsibilities:

This academic appointment includes significant opportunities and expectations in research and education. We seek a scientist who has established, or demonstrates strong potential to build, a nationally competitive and externally funded research program. Faculty members are expected to engage in collaborative research, mentor trainees, and contribute to the educational mission of the department.

This position is on an academic track with tenure or tenure eligibility. Academic rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and accomplishments.
