Progressive experience, knowledge, and understanding of intramural recreation sports programs. Effective customer relations, strong interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with rec sports, including but not limited to scheduling, brackets, and equipment.
Basic office and computer skills; experience with FUSION membership management system.

Small number of full time staff members who office in this building. Contract parking is conveniently located near front door entrance.
Typical work hours are weekdays 8am-5pm but hours will vary to include flex time to work some nights during league/activity seasons.

Position Summary:

Assists in the organization and supervision of participants in a variety of recreational, intramural sports or wellness programs

Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Assists in the design, implementation, and supervision of recreational sports programs or wellness programs/services.
2. Arranges space for equipment and appropriate support personnel.
3. Coordinates and compiles reports, tracks participant use and assist with inventory control.
4. Coordinates purchase requisitions for program supplies.
5. Interfaces with individuals/departments concerning program and facility information.
6. Assists in the supervision of student/causal employees and contract instructors/officials directly related to programs.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic office and computer skills
  • Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by American Red Cross or American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • First Aid Certification by American Red Cross or American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
  • American Fitness Professional and Associates Personal Training Certification

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in recreation, physical education, sports management, wellness or related field.

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years of experience coordinating activities or programs at a competitive or recreational sports program level. Youth and summer camp related program experience is necessary for specific program responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:
This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position.
