UTHealth is hiring a Reconciliation Analyst in Accounting and Financial Analytics in Houston, TX. This is a full-time position.

UTHealth Houston's Accounting and Financial Analytics Department is looking for a reconciliation analyst. This employee ensures the accuracy and alignment of financial transactions, records, and accounts. This role involves performing regular account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and supporting financial reporting processes. Monitors cash flow balances and bank reconciliation items for each UT Physicians clinic location and bank. You will review our Epic posting reports and compare them with our accounting programs. This will require interacting with our clinical staff and reviewing their cash-handling process. The analyst will also work with credit card payment systems. You should be strong with processes and be effective at starting and following through to the finish of a project.

This role will be located at our University Center Tower location and will have a hybrid schedule dependent on business needs. You will be eligible for all UTHealth benefits, and this is a full-time role.

Position Key Accountabilities:
  • Assists with the daily cash & checks money bags collection with the currency change request and bank run. This includes completing the daily deposit log/sheet, scanning the bank deposit receipts, and sorting the bank deposit receipts into the envelope for the clinics/user to pick up.
  • Reviews and validates the EPIC cash drawer for all the money bags turned in at UTP Recon TMC or UTP Recon Bellaire Station.
  • Monitors clinic processes to ensure cash drawer documentation is scanned promptly.
  • Downloads, monitors and identifies bank and EPIC items to ensure they are balanced. Confirms all clinic activity is correctly posted to the system. Request and submit discrepancies and obtain supporting documentation from the clinics.
  • Identifies and requests corrections to transactions posted in EPIC that do not match the bank deposit information.
  • Identifies and requests corrections on incorrect envelope numbers entered for the cash drawer.
  • Reviews and downloads the FaxUtil for the Cash Drawer Documentation into the UTP Reconciliation folders. Emails and addresses the incomplete Cash Drawer Documentation.
  • Reviews and validates the UTP Reconciliation Folders to ensure Cash Drawer Documentation is scanned, items are in sequence order, and comply with UT Physicians Cash Drawer Scanning Protocols.
  • Monitors clinics and ensures they promptly follow policies and procedures on cash/check deposits for UT Physicians clinics
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information per PHI/HIPPA guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education:

Associate's Degree required. May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.

Minimum Experience:

3 years of related experience required. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
