Description:

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is seeking qualified candidates to join its outstanding faculty. This position offers the opportunity to work on a state-of-the-art Behavioral Sciences Campus that includes two psychiatric hospitals with a combined capacity of 500 beds and 29 outpatient clinics across the greater Houston area. Located in the heart of the nation's largest medical center, the department supports a robust research enterprise and a wide range of educational programs, including a large psychiatry residency, a child and adolescent fellowship, psychology internship training, and additional advanced programs. Our collaborative and collegial environment promotes interdisciplinary teamwork. The selected candidate will play a key role in teaching and clinical supervision of psychology predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, practicum students, and psychiatry residents and fellows, serving as a core training site for McGovern Medical School and the new School of Behavioral Health Sciences.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The selected faculty member will serve as a Clinical Psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, with assignment to the Memorial Hermann Pediatric Specialty Outpatient Clinic at Katy. Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments and consultations, developing treatment plans, and providing evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy. The position also contributes to the department's missions in education, research, and patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Psy.D. or Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program
  • Licensed or eligible for license by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
