Description:

UTHealth Houston is looking for a Project Manager in Marketing and Web Services. This employee leads project management throughout the life cycle of marketing and website projects. Plans, coordinates, and manages projects to ensure efficient completion within budgetary, space, and time limits. You will be handling internal clients, including departments within the University. Intakes, service requests, and form requests will be a routine part of your duties. You will also manage who is engaged to work on the projects and make sure that appropriate resources are provided. A client services background is preferred.

These projects focus on marketing and web services, with a strong emphasis on front-end web development, design, and accessibility. Experience with managing website projects will be extremely helpful, and knowledge of higher education and healthcare is also a plus. You will often be juggling multiple projects simultaneously, so you need to know how to prioritize tasks and manage team members.

Position Summary:

Plans, organizes, and coordinates project management activities across a variety of areas: strategic operations, communications, product development, program management, and web development in order to ensure the implementation of projects in a manner that maintains within budget, on schedule, and of the highest quality.

Position Key Accountabilities:
  • Provides project management services to project staff, including program managers, communications, and web developers.
  • Coordination and management of project planning, project development, and strategic planning among various staff, and determines proper project delivery methods.
  • Leads and supervises technology development.
  • May coordinate e-learning projects with school administration, user groups, faculty, and staff.
  • Oversees, and may perform cost estimating, design, project scheduling, and budgeting, quality assurance, communication, procurement, and project closeout.
  • May manage ongoing procurements and vendor relationships for state initiatives.
  • Ensures project controls, tracking, performance measurement, reporting, and product delivery objectives are met.
  • Oversees communications, internally and externally, including community engagement activities. Liaisons with UTHealth Communications.
  • Responsible for assisting with the management, implementation, and launch of new products and services. Supports upper management with long-term planning, external relationship development, and staff development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Leadership and Planning, Administration, or related field required

Minimum Experience:

5 years of experience in project management required

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
