Description:

We are hiring a Programmer Analyst IV (casual up to 19.5 hrs/week) to join UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Houston, Tx. In this role, you will develop, validate, and maintain programs for the analysis, visualization, and reporting of clinical trial data, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA and EMA). Proficient in Red Hat environments and R.

Position Summary:

Provides the technical guidance and direction in the implementation of operational programs from complex systems concept and design. Responsible for designing/analyzing system flows, developing program specifications, writing and maintaining programs, coding and testing programs and providing production support and technical assistance to other programmer/analysts.

Position Key Accountabilities:
  • Consults with and analyzes the users needs to ensure the program written fulfills required needs.
  • Analyzes/designs system flows and develops/codes program specification based to ensure the agreed upon requirements are met.
  • Test program thoroughly to ensure all expected results are verified and discrepancies are resolved.
  • Adheres to departmental standards to ensure the consistency of product produced.
  • Conducts walk-through and training for user/client and other technical team members to ensure product is understood and meets requested needs.
  • Modifies existing programs to ensure that changing needs of the user are met.
  • Provides work direction and guidance to personnel within department. May lead projects and activities.
  • May manage Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Certification/Skills:
  • Clinical trials programming experience, preffered.

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field or relevant experience in lieu of education required.

Minimum Experience:
  • 5 years of programming experience with two years of supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
